Dirt is moving...

Things are starting to look very different at Pine Breeze Dairy.  With a green light on construction, Mueller Excavating has moved in to start moving ground.  The site plans have fairly balanced cut/fill requirements.  This means that the areas where the ground needs to be dug down (as shown on the left), the dirt will be used where the ground level needs to be raised (ex: feed pad area).  Construction is expected to go through the winter and into spring.  Since harvesting is just a short time away, we need to concentrate on completing the feed pad first to accomodate the inventory of corn sileage and haylage.

Below is a photo of part of the feed pad area, which will cover approximately 240,000 sq ft.  Most of the feed at Pine Breeze Dairy will be purchased from other local farmers.
